Senior Counsel

Cathy is an experienced litigator who concentrates in general liability, transportation, personal injury, construction defect, and community association matters. She represents a wide-range of companies and has extensive experience investigating, evaluating, and negotiating litigated cases to successful resolution. Cathy has served as general corporate counsel to community associations in civil litigation and corporate governance. She has worked with homeowners association board of directors in litigating CC&R enforcement issues, contract interpretation and compliance, and breach of fiduciary duty.

In the construction arena, Cathy has successfully litigated numerous multimillion dollar, multi-unit construction defect cases. She is experienced in all aspects of litigation from early motion practice to fact witness and expert discovery, jury selection, and trial.
Cathy is also an experienced negotiator. Before practicing law, she worked as a claims adjuster and supervisor in the litigation unit for a nationally recognized insurer. In that capacity, Cathy negotiated hundreds of settlements, mediations, and arbitrations.

Cathy regularly participates in continuing education legal seminars on the subjects of community association law and construction defect litigation. Cathy has published articles in various community association trade organizations, including The Voice Magazine, regarding common interest developments, CC&R enforcement, and communications with the association’s boards of directors.
