Doug is an experienced litigator with extensive experience in state, federal, and appellate courts who specializes in handling commercial, insurance, and tort disputes and represents a wide range of companies. Mr. Scott has extensive experience investigating, evaluating, and negotiating litigated cases to successful resolution. With his diverse experience in litigating complex and general civil cases, including catastrophic claims and construction, he assists clients in assessing and managing their legal risks throughout the litigation process. This attorney prides himself on zealously advocating for his clients while maintaining the respect of judges, colleagues and opposing counsel.

Doug takes a practical, client-oriented approach to problem-solving, ensuring that each of his clients are given personalized and effective guidance. Mr. Scott is well versed and experienced in all aspects of litigation, from initial intake and case evaluation, to drafting pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, depositions, expert discovery, trial preparation, pre-trial motions, trial, post-trial motions, and appeals. He has successfully represented clients through trial, arbitration, mediation, settlement conference, informal settlement negotiations, and appeal. Doug has negotiated hundreds of settlements, mediations, and arbitrations.
Doug regularly participates in continuing legal education seminars and has been a featured speaker at several of the State Bar of Texas annual meetings. Mr. Scott has twice served as chair on the executive committee for the State Bar of Texas commercial law section and has twice been the course director for their continuing legal education course. Due to his extensive involvement in continuing legal education, Mr. Scott is a fellow of the Society of Legal Scholars for the College of the State Bar of Texas.
