James M. Boardman
Partner
Jim grew up in a small town in Alaska. In addition to working on a musk-ox farm and fishing boats, he also practiced law there for two decades. In our northernmost State, he represented large insurers, airplane crash survivors, hospitals, physicians, construction contractors and injured fishermen. In fulfillment of a wedding vow, he relocated to Northern California in 2013 with his family.
In California, he continues to represent physicians, construction contractors and handle employment claims. He has practiced in both federal and state courts, resolved hundreds of cases and has several published opinions. And now also represents wineries. His father was a construction project manager, siblings are engineers and architects, so as the black sheep, he ventured into the practice of law.

Outside of the office, Jim loves being outdoors — whether playing hockey, skiing, biking, rafting or surfing. When not moving, he delves into cooking, writing and gardening to calm his soul. His experiences, both practicing law and enjoying life, assist in digesting a case swiftly, cut to critical issues then use advocacy to obtain an early resolution or favorable court outcome.
